Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Healthy Futures programme?
Do I need to be fit before joining?
What happens at the first appointment?
Your journey starts with a one to one assessment. This can be in person, online, or over the phone. You discuss your goals, lifestyle, barriers and what support you need. From this, we create a personalised plan to help you succeed.
What do the weekly group sessions involve?
Each session includes friendly discussion, nutrition education, behaviour tools, and simple activity guidance. You also receive a workbook with tips and information to support your progress between sessions.
Do I have to be weighed each week?
Weighing is optional. Many people choose it to monitor progress, while others prefer to focus on habits, energy, and confidence. The choice is yours, and we will support you either way.
Will I get meal plans?
Instead of strict plans, you learn how to create balanced meals, manage portions, understand hunger, and make choices that work for your lifestyle. These skills lead to long term success.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results vary, but our commissioner data shows strong outcomes for those who stay engaged. Many participants who attend consistently achieve at least five percent weight loss, with results improving further for those who continue to 24 weeks.
What if I miss a week?
Life happens. If you miss a session, you can catch up using your workbook or ask your coach for additional support. The programme is designed to keep you moving forward even on busy weeks.
Is the programme suitable for people with health conditions?
Healthy Futures is suitable for many people, including those managing long term conditions. If you have any medical concerns, we recommend speaking with your GP before starting. Our coaches adapt guidance to suit individual needs.
